Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known by her highly commendable performances in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with many awards for her performance and has even won an Oscar. The talented actress began her career in acting on the stage by performing in a myriad of Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. The actress has always had an interest in acting from the time she was in high school. Her debut role in a show in the fifth grade was Helen Keller. Mumps made her lose hearing in one her ear, however this was not enough to stop the actress from pursuing her dream. In college she studied theatre and then moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Hunter was trapped in the lift of playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. Her first film role was as an actress supporting the main character in Swing Shift. For the past 30 years Holly Hunter has been on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in addition to an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
